There are mixing problems, in several songs it is very hard to hear the microphones (singing) in other parts the singing is overwhelming (Beat It On Down The Line) the recording has a muffled sound to it (as if the high frequencies were squeezed out). Other than that it's an unremarkable SBD. The positive highlight is you can actually hear the crowd more than other SBD's. Recording Quality: For a soundboard it's slightly above average. Just because it's the first show of '74 and it's a new era doesn't in-of-itself justify a 5 star rating. Someone said something about shows from 76, as far as having a distinctively fresh and different sound, and I kind of see this show as having a bit of that character. but when they hit their stride, it sounds niiiice and fresh. You can definitely hear that it's a little awkward at moments, like when it comes time to end a song and not everyone realizes it, but to me those moments add to the character of the show and bring the Boys a little closer to earth as we see that they're not magicians, they're rusty after a break just like you or me would be.
